At Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat, our vision is to be a strong civil society organization with focus on sustainable principles and governance – For the marine environment and fisheries.

For that reason Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat applied back in January 2023 for a seat on the Fisheries Council without voting rights, as fishing is part of our area of interest.

It is therefore a great pleasure for Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat that the organization has now been awarded a seat in the Fisheries Council without voting rights, and here increasing the interface with the fishing industry.

Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat is an environmental fund/charitable and non-governmental organization, that promotes marine protection and sustainable use of marine living resources in partnership with stakeholders such as organizations, communities, and scientists. The organization was established in 2021 and has an office in Nuuk.
